9.90
Honor Ride

Come join us for the 1st Annual  2019 9.90 Honor Ride!  This years riders have the option of either the original 91 mile ride or the half (45.6 miles), both rides begin in historic Wellington City Park.  The first 2 miles the riders will be escorted by local police and the Army National Guard along Wellington Main St (Hwy 6).  This first 2 miles is to bring awareness to, show support for and honor those that currently serve and have served in the United States miltary branches.   Once the riders turn north, they begin climbing the desert plateau into 9 mile canyon (it's approximately 9 miles to the canyon).  This canyon is world renowned for its archealogical significance and as the world's longest outdoor art gallery.  The riders will climb to a maximum elevation of 7,500 feet or about a 2,100 foot ascent on the bike.  Be sure to admire the beautiful canyon as you descend over 2,000 feet to the Great Hunt Panel where some lunch will be waiting.  At this point, the 9.90 Half will be at its finish and will be shuttled back to Miller's Travel Center in Wellington.  The remaining riders will begin another long climb to the peak before descending back into Wellington.  This is an open road with little traffic and very scenic.  Upon your return to Miller's, snacks and beverages will be provided free of charge as riders take photographs and modify their times on strava so they can tell stories to their friends.

Proceeds for this ride will go right back into the Castle Country military community so thank you for participating.
